Samsung Childrens Museum

Aiden had a field trip with his class to the Samsung Childrens Museum. Josh was able to take the day off work and join him which I know he liked. Below are some of the pictures they took while there. Aiden said he enjoyed the WHOLE museum and his favorite things were the "construction zone" and the ball museum.

Baby Jacomet 3

I thought everyone might like to see our new little "peanut"!!!! This little guy/girl has been causing mommy alot of discomfort that I hope ends soon. This ultrasound was done 2 weeks ago (at 7 weeks). I am now 9 weeks and most the "icky" feelings should subside by 12 weeks and hopefully before!!! Either way, the end result is SO worth all the discomfort that comes along with it. I pray this pregnancy will be just as smooth as my last 2 and we will have a healthy, happy baby come Sept!!!!!

Ice Skating

Today we took advantage of the US Holiday and went out into downtown Seoul ice skating!!!! We knew it would not be as busy as normal since it was a Monday BUT there were alot more people than we expected. Overall though, it was not too bad and everyone had fun. We went with some friends of ours and were able to really help the kids. Aiden was a little nervous yet excited to do it. He really got brave and was able to skate on his own a bit. He did fall down a few times but got right back up and kept trying. Austin never really got much of a chance to try it on his own. He did a little but since he seems to "attract" injury we felt it best to hold onto him. However, he did great and did not fall much at all. He seemed more comfortable doing it but I think it is more his personality. Aiden is more cautious as Austin is more of the "jump right in" type. I think that may be why Austin has more injuries!!!!! Everyone had a good time and both boys are asking to go back. Not sure if we will make it back or not as it will only be around for about a month longer but we will always find more things to go do!!!

Snow Day!!!!

Never say never!!!!!! Korea "normally" does not get a huge amount of snow but we did today.....and it was the most snow Seoul has seen in over 70 yrs!!!! We got about 8-10 inches of snow and the boys got another day off school!!!! I took our snow gear to Ohio last winter when we went to visit and we decided not to bring it back with us since Korea does not get much snow!!!! Luckily, I have a wonderful and generous friend who so kindly offered to let us borrow some of their extra snow gear!!! She let us use snow boots for both boys (luckily her kids are the same age as mine) and snow pants for Aiden....Austin had a pair that came with his coat. So, we spent about 2 1/2 hrs outside playing and digging out!!! School has already been cancelled for tomorrow as well so my guess is we will be out for round 2 if the kids get their way!!!!! Below is a link to the story that made the news!!!! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100104/ap_on_re_as/as_asia_storms

Christmas!!!!

We had a great Christmas with the boys this year. They are at such a great age for Christmas. The hotel here on base that held some of the Christmas activities had great decoration so we took some pictures there. Aiden made reindeer food at school and was thrilled to set that out along with Santa's cookies and milk. Austin went right to bed but Aiden was so excited for Santa to visit that he went back to bed at 8pm but did not fall asleep until almost 11pm!!!!! Needless to say Santa was waiting patiently for him to fall asleep :) On Christmas day the boys woke up and were ready to go. Aiden read all the name tags and handed all the gifts out. They both were so happy with the presents and have spent the last several days since Christmas playing so nicely together with them. I will be sad to see school start back up next week and I have enjoyed my time with BOTH boys being home all day!!!! We are looking forward to the New Year and new adventures!!!!

Austin's Christmas Party

Austin had a litlte Christmas party at school on his last day before the break. He was not very impressed with it but sat there quietly and wore his hat the whole time. He did sign jingle bells but none of the other songs. Not many of the 3 yr old enjoyed it....most cried or would not sit up there. It is a hard age to organize for something like this but his teachers did a great job. Austin would not look or smile at me as you can tell from the pictures. He was doing it on purpose but as soon as they pulled out the food he was much more happy. Either way he is a cutie and I had to post the pictures!!!!

Christmas Caroling at DHL

Aiden class got to go to the hotel on base and sign several Christmas songs. Aiden did such a GREAT job as did his whole class. He is really loving Kindergarten and has made such great little friends. After the caroling one of the restaraunts served the kids pizza and juice :)

Santa Visits

Aiden's school took a trip to the Hotel here on base and got to stand outside and wait for Santa to visit them. It is SO cold that day and Santa must have had some trouble getting here from the North Pole............but he finally arrived and the kids loved it. Austin stood in the line like he was part of the kindergarten class. They even got mini candy canes at the end :)

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving despite battling some illness. Aiden and Austin had fevers during Austin's scheduled Thanksgiving party at school but they were both feeling better a few days later for Aiden's school party. Luckily, Austin was able to join in so he was not left completely out. Then, everyone was feeling well for our Thanksgiving dinner and it turned out great!!!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Austin took a terrible fall on Monday morning and got hurt pretty bad. We were walking and it was like 19 degrees out on Monday and he was cold. I had a heavy coat and hat on him but we did not have gloves......so I told him to put his hands in his coat to help stay warm. Good idea to keep him warm, but a BAD idea incase of a fall. Anyways, he tripped and because his hands were in his pocket, he had no way to catch/break his fall. His poor face went smack into the concrete sidewalk. He knocked his one front tooth loose and it is crooked. It should tighten up on it's own in time. It will always be crooked until he looses it and gets his secondary teeth in. His nose took a beating.....it looked worse the day after it happened and just started to look like it is healing today. His gums are still bleeding at times but it does not seemt o hurt or bother him. I have my fingers crossed that this is all of the damage. It is very possible he has some root damage to his tooth. If that is the case I am told it may turn grey/black for awhile and will eventually go back to white. I hope it does not turn black and he heals quickly. My poor baby:( Pardon his little boogie in his nose on the pics below :P

Korean Folk Village

Aiden's class took a field trip to the Korean Folk Village on Thursday. Josh was able to take the day off work and go with him. I am glad they got the chance to spend some time together. Normally I always go on the field trips because Josh has sucha busy work schedule and is gone alot so this was a great ooportunity for them to spend some quality time together. They both really seemed to enjoy the trip and they had a beautiful fall day for it. Below are just some of the many pictures they took. This is a place we would love to take mom and dad when they come for their visit in April.

Austin's last soccer practice

Today was the last practice of the season. Austin enjoyed playing so much and will hopefully want to do it again next year. He improved with his lessons and enjoyed running around. The coach did a great job and today had a little party with pizza, medals and a certificate.

Halloween

We had a wonderful night for trick-or-treating. It had rained all day but stopped for the evening and was a very mild night out. The boys love the whole evening of dressing up, trick or treating and handing out candy at our house.

Family Pictures :)

We had family pictures taken last weekend by a friend who did a great job. We had a wonderful fall day for it and enjoyed being outside. We do not have many family pictures and it was nice that she just takes a bunch of different poses and then gives us the disk to do with it what we like. I look forward to getting some prints made nad getting them frames here in Korea. There is a great framing shop right off base and luckily, it is super cheap in Korea. Enjoy the pictures below:

Aiden's Falloween Festival

Aiden got to wear his costume to school today and they had a little parade with all 9 kindergraten classes and then had a mini festival afterwards. Each class had 2 booths set up for the kids to "cycle" through and everyone had a good time. Aiden was so excited to wear his costume to school and had such a great time. He has really grown so much just in these 2 months at kindergarten and is really loving school. It was a beautiful fall day to celebrate and I enjoyed being able to help with one of the booths for his class. Enjoy the pictures below ( I did two slide shows because I found 2 more pictures and could not add them to the original slideshow):

Austin's "Community Helper" Parade at School

Austin's preschool does not celebrate Halloween so they do a "Community Helper Parade" instead. They provide the costumes and dress them up. Then they walk around the front of the school for the parents, sing a song and then go back to class. It does not last very long but the kids seem to enjoy it. Here are a few pictures, Austin was a mail carrier :)

The Childrens Grand Park

What a wonderful day we had today at The Childrens Grand Park. I have been wanting to go to this park since we got here and am so glad we made it today. Unfortunately, Josh is out of the country and was not able to go with us so we invited some good friends of ours to join us. The kids had so much fun....I am not even sure where to start. We started with a short subway ride to the park. The boys LOVE taking the subway trains. Once inside the park, we spent some time at a few of the many playground they have to offer. We then spent most of our time at the "amuzement park" part. There we several different rides for the boys to do. Austin could do most of the rides but was unable to do the bumper cars and the roller coaster. Speaking of the roller coaster....WOW.....Aiden went on it with our friends while I stay with Austin. We did not realize the one they got on was the BIG one. We thought it was the little one....we were in for a suprise. It was a full blown roller coaster complete with a large hill, a flip and two cork screws!!!! I almost had a heart attack sitting on the ground realizing that was the one they were on!!!! Aiden was a little scared when he first got off but said he really liked it and wants to do it again. Then, after we got done riding rides, we went to the zoo part of the park. It was a small but nice zoo with a little bit of everything. We got to see the water bird, small animal zoo, petting zoo, several bears, and big cats, monkeys and many more. The elephant they had there was HUGE!!!! Then, we headed over to let the kids ride the camel. Austin was too small to ride it alone so I bought him a ticket to ride the pony. The kids loved that as you can tell from the pictures below. Then we finished off with another playground and the subway ride back home. It was a long but very enjoyable day. I look forward to going back real soon before the weather gets too cold. The boys are already wanting to go back and take daddy next time. Enjoy the pictures below :)
